Kyle Sims

Collections by Kyle Sims:

Kyle Sims was born and raised near Cheyenne, Wyoming. His talent was recognized early by his parents and they nurtured and encouraged his passion. At the age of 16, Kyle began taking workshops with artists that were making a living from their work. Notable teachers were Paco Young, Terry Isaac and Daniel Smith. Paco Young was most influential in Kyle’s development. It was Paco that stressed how important it was to get outside and paint from life.

Kyle attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. He spent much of that time taking advantage of the Montana experience and spent a great deal of time in the Beartooth Mountains.

Kyle loves making new discoveries with oil paint, but his favorite part of being a wildlife artist is getting outdoors and observing wildlife firsthand. He truly feels that getting outside is paramount, and it is half or more of his enjoyment of being a wildlife artist.

Kyle currently resides near Bozeman, MT with his wife Joylene. He has been exhibiting annually at the Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale along with a few well known miniature shows. His work has appeared in Southwest Art, Art of the West, Wildlife Art, and Western Art Collector magazines.
